y would sum1 think the IOW is the only place with waves? no1 actually said that! but it is very true that we get way more swell here than most of the south coast but that doesnt always mean its better here, just usually a lot bigger.

I did a similar thing to my long board and just filed a bit of scrap wood into a fin. Pack it out with a load of fibre gl*** and it'll go a treat. I think there's a few islanders who will be able to fit one for a price?

A COMP WITH GUYS WITH FISHES AND QUADS COVER THE WHOLE ISLAND THERES SOME REALLY GOOD GUYS ON FISHES AND RETRO STUFF

I think that once a year there should be a big wave comp held at Freshwater or Chilton Reef.As it is hard to predict the conditions in advance there should be a waiting period between October and January.When the charts are showing a large swell

arriving with a light southerly or northerly wind then it's game on.Just e-mail or text all those that have entered the comp and make the most of the swell window.This will really test the surfers as Compton Bay is not always that great for contests.

A contest would be good. Gail did a good job with the others, but i think imput from others and local surf shops and shop on the south coast could help with a bigger attendance...

the surf scene is gettin larger on the south coast each year, so gettin comp going would see a good show in what talent is around this way.
